Two sites in Sainte-Martine and Saint-Rémi serve the western Montérégie region. Vegetable seed distribution is managed from our site in Saint-Rémi.

Our mission is to provide solutions to agronomic problems in order to maximize crop performance. We achieve this aim through counselling and through the distribution of everything required by the crop producers.

Vision

Both the present owners of 5Agrocentre Fertibec grew up in the agricultural milieu of Québec. Richard Adam grew up on a cereal and beet farm. He graduated with a degree in agronomy from McGill University in 1990. While working in the agrochemical industry for Zeneca, he completed his master's degree in administration (MBA).

Jean-Luc Yelle grew up on a farm specializing in potato production. Once his studies were completed in agronomy at McGill University in 1982, he worked for various companies involved in field crops in the western Montérégie area. After joining Fertibec in 1993, he completed his master's degree in business administration (MBA) in 1997.

The owners of Fertibec share their passion for agriculture with twenty permanent employees and more than thirty seasonal workers. Their experience in production, maintenance, logistics, computer technology, administration and agronomy allows them to offer outstanding service to their customers.

Characteristics of the territory served by Fertibec

Agrocentre Fertibec serves the western Montérégie region - west of the Richelieu and south of the Outaouais rivers

  • This region produces nearly a quarter of all the corn and soybean production in Québec.
  • The presence of a significant number of Anglophone producers has resulted in this region becoming an innovator in techniques originating in Ontario and the United States.
  • . Due to its proximity to the large Montreal marketplace and its particular soil type, the western Montérégie accounts for 40% of the province's vegetable production.

Specialized Services

Agrocentre Fertibec has become a leader in providing custom application services for its customers.

  • Fertilizer spreading
  • Lime application
  • Product application for crop production

Due to the expanding market for nitrogen application, Fertibec has been an innovator in the use of flexible reservoirs that can be easily moved between customers. These reservoirs can receive an entire truckload of product.

Exclusive Distribution

Agrocentre Fertibec has the exclusive distribution rights to Agrotain. The use of this product to treat urea allows producers to split the application of nitrogen. Post-emergence broadcast spreading of urea in corn generates important time and fuel savings and increased nitrogen efficiency for the crop.

Seminova

The distribution of Seminova seeds through Agrocentre Fertibec completes a wide product range for their horticultural customers.
