AEFP AND AGROENVIRONMENT
AEFP and Agroenvironment
In Quebec, the Agricultural Operations Regulation (OAR) stipulates that most agricultural operations are obligated to produce an annual agro-environmental fertilization plan (AEFP) and a phosphorus report.

The AEFP is a fertilization management tool for enterprise. It presents a profile of the farm, identifies at-risk zones and practices, proposes corrective measures, and contains recommendations for mineral and organic fertilization. The AEFP is anchored to the phosphorus report and ensures phosphorus balance, based on the phosphorus load to be managed by the enterprise, and soil capacity for it based on the cultivated areas, crop type, and richness of the soil.

For the Agrocentre network, the sustainability of agricultural enterprises and the protection of the environment are crucial. That’s why we provide an AEFP preparation service. The AEFP is a document that is essential to sound agricultural monitoring and ensures your compliance with the environmental standards in effect.

Soil analysis
The OAR also requires that every cultivated parcel be analyzed at least once every 5 years. The information provided by the soil analysis forms the basis of the fertilization plan. Over time, soil components vary, depending on the crops, cultural methods, and the mineral and/or organic fertilizer applied. Sampling at regular intervals, especially if georeferenced, helps to keep an up-to-date field profile. The needs of different crops and the fertilization proposed are based on the soil analysis.

The Agrocentre network, through a partnership with various laboratories, offers you a turnkey service that includes sampling and a detailed soil analysis.
